The Samsung QA85Q8FAAU (Q8FA series) is an 85-inch mid-range QLED 4K Smart TV designed to balance large-screen immersion, strong brightness, and smart AI processing at a more affordable price than Samsung’s Neo QLED or OLED models. It sits above entry-level Crystal UHD TVs and below premium QN (Neo QLED) models.

At its core, it uses a 4K UHD resolution (3840 × 2160) combined with Samsung’s Q4 AI Processor, which handles image enhancement, noise reduction, and 4K AI upscaling. This allows lower-resolution content like HD TV channels or YouTube videos to look sharper and more refined on the large 85-inch display.

The TV uses a Quantum Dot (QLED) panel, delivering 100% Color Volume, which means it can display extremely vibrant and accurate colors even at high brightness levels. It also supports Quantum HDR+ with HDR10+ Adaptive, improving contrast and brightness dynamically depending on the scene and ambient lighting. This makes it especially strong in bright living rooms or daytime viewing conditions.

Motion handling is powered by Motion Xcelerator technology, with a 50–60Hz refresh rate, which is standard for this class. It performs well for movies, TV shows, and sports, but it is not designed for high-end competitive gaming. However, it does include Auto Game Mode (ALLM), VRR support, and Game Motion Plus, which help reduce input lag and improve smoothness for casual gaming.

Audio is handled by a 20W 2-channel speaker system with Object Tracking Sound Lite (OTS Lite) and Adaptive Sound+. This creates a more immersive audio experience by adjusting sound based on on-screen action, though most users still prefer adding a soundbar for deeper bass and cinematic audio.

The smart platform is Samsung Tizen OS, which is fast, stable, and feature-rich. It supports all major streaming apps such as Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, and Prime Video, along with Samsung TV Plus free channels, SmartThings integration, and voice assistants like Alexa and Bixby.
